Description
The effects of wind and tide invariably cause a boat to turn in circles around the buoy, a swivel is used to prevent the chain or rope riser twisting which causes it to shorten, consequently the swivel plays a very important part of any mooring assembly.
The swivels that we sell are suitable for mooring use.
Our recommendation is that the swivel should be at least one size larger than the chain riser, because they work continuously they should be inspected regularly.
BGD Rod buoys incorporate a swivel which eliminates the requirement for an underwater swivel.
